Growth Hormone Deficiency in Children

Growth hormone is the master chemical in the body for growth. Having adequate growth hormone is particularly important while your child is young. Growth hormone makes sure that your child grows up to reach a normal height. If your child doesn’t have enough growth hormone, he or she will grow slowly and might not reach his or her full adult height.

Growth hormone deficiency (GHD) can be treated with growth hormone therapy. Growth hormone therapy can provide the right amount of growth hormone that your child’s body needs. Importantly, your child should be diagnosed and treated as early as possible. With early growth hormone treatment, your child can have the best possibility to reach his or her normal adult height.
